Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Master Teachers of Subject Areas to Provide On-Site Coaching and Mentoring Support for Teachers and Students of FOCUS Schools (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of Agreement for Technical Service with Master teachers identified by grades 9-12 subject area supervisors to provide on-site coaching and mentoring support for teachers and students of FOCUS schools; Armwood, Blake, Chamberlain, East Bay, King, Leto, Middleton, and Spoto. The provider will use assessment to drive instruction in lesson planning and identification of instructional strategies and resources to increase instructional effectiveness, improve academic outcome, and school accountability. On-going support will be provided to the FOCUS schools from January 4 - June 5, 2010. Compensation will differ according to the number of contracted hours.

Funds of $82,413.32 are included in Project FOCUS - Project 5382.
