Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Nommo Drama to Conduct Student Theatre Enrichment Program (STEP) with Students at Ferrell Middle School (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Nommo Drama will conduct 35 Student Theatre Enrichment Program (STEP) courses for students at Ferrell Middle Magnet School beginning December 9, 2009, through June 1, 2010. The purpose of STEP is to expose students to various ways in which language and communication is utilized in theatrical convention. The STEP program is aligned with the Sunshine State Standards for language arts, social studies, and theatre and also includes life skills, character development, leadership, social skills, goal setting and community service.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds of $6,125 for the six month STEP program are included in the Magnet School Assistance Program (MSAP) federal grant budget.
EVALUATION
Independent grant evaluators will assess the STEP program in conjunction with the Advanced Course Scholars Program at Ferrell Middle Magnet School.
