Recognition of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators' Regis F. Groff Youth Award (Middle School Education-Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Ross Anderson, District Resource Teacher at Steinbrenner High School and Van Buren Middle School, was honored during the National Black Caucus of State Legislators' 33rd Annual Legislative Conference on December 4, 2009, in Fort Lauderdale. Mr. Anderson was awarded the Regis F. Groff Youth Award because of his commitment to working with at-risk youth in the community.

Mr. Anderson started "Men of Vision," whose purpose is to provide an opportunity for young men to work together in fellowship, dedicated to servicing their community with an academic focus. The award was named in honor of a former member of the Colorado State Senate and is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of the nation's youth.
