Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Lucia Hasty to Provide Training During the Annual Weekends with the Experts Seminar for Visually Impaired, Visually Impaired Grant (Curriculum and Instruction Division, Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired – FIMC-VI)

We request approval of the Agreement for Technical Services with Ms. Hasty to provide three days of training and follow-up for the workshops titled, "Creating and Producing Quality Tactile Graphics for Students Who Are Blind or Deaf-Blind" in a contractor/subcontractor relationship for the period February 24, 2010 through May 14, 2010. For the Weekends with the Experts, Ms. Hasty will provide the following services:

• Collaborate with FIMC-VI to plan and create hands-on activities for participants to produce various types of tactile graphics
• Provide follow-up consultation as to the quality of tactile graphics produced by participants
• Provide guidance in the newly adopted Standards for Tactile Graphics, published by the Braille Authority of North America (BANA)

FIMC-VI is a statewide resource center assisting Florida’s 67 school districts with the specialized materials needs of blind and visually impaired students. FIMC-VI operates under Florida Department of Education (FDOE) through an annual agreement with The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida.

Funds of $5,465 are included in the divisional special revenue/federal program budget, Project 1717, FIMC-VI. All expenditures for this activity are reimbursed by FDOE.
