Green Building of America Award for Strawberry Crest High School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The District has been notified that Strawberry Crest High School has been selected from more the 2,500 nominated projects as a Green Building of America Award-winning project. The award recognizes the most important, innovative or unique sustainable facilities from across the country, and highlights the District’s efforts to implement sustainable designs.

Long & Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. provided the award-winning design that included energy and water conservation measures, and incorporated significant levels of recycled content. The conservation measures significantly exceed the requirements of the Florida Energy Code. Specific green features include:

The award is one of several recognitions for the school designed by Long & Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. and constructed by HCBeck, Ltd. In addition to the selection as a Green Building of America, the school has been recognized with:
