Tracking Small Business Construction Subcontractor Utilization

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

For several years, district staff has tracked the use of local small businesses in its construction program to evaluate the effectiveness of the district’s small business encouragement program. District staff recently developed a database to streamline the process for collection, entry and tabulation of that data. The database is integrated with the district’s project tracking program and includes a web interface that allows for public access to subcontractor bid information. District staff will demonstrate the features of the database at the workshop.
