Approve Award of Contract for 2009 Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements at
Various Schools

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Key Engineering Associates, Inc. was selected from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services. The scope of work provides for water and wastewater treatment plant improvements at Alafia, Dover, Lutz, and Maniscalco Elementary Schools, and Gaither and Jefferson High Schools.

The project was advertised and bids received (see attachment). Award of the contract to the low bidder, Environmental Equipment Sales, Inc., is recommended.

* Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Total funds in the amount of $438,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance. The contract amount being awarded is $437,237.38.
