The Children's Advocacy Center at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Tampa has provided instruction to 63 elementary school physical education teachers with the Safe Routes to School Program and the Walk and Roll to School Bike and Pedestrian Safety Program impacting 22,500 students in grades K-5.  Instruction during the Walk and Roll to School Days included physical education teacher trainings, on-site pedestrian and bicycle safety clinics for students and parents, and community involvement.  In addition, students and parents received safety helmets and other road safety items such as reflective backpacks, bike locks, T-shirts, and reflective blinking lights.  Hillsborough County Public Schools received approximately $100,000 in financial benefits for the 2009/2010 school year.
