EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Hillsborough County Public Schools has been selected to participate in the Literacy Design Collaborative pilot project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The project supports the integration of higher order reading, thinking, speaking, and writing tasks into the sixth grade advanced reading curriculum. The goal is to scaffold students to greater success in their future advanced placement courses. The National Literacy Project will provide four deliverables in support of our district's pilot project to include six planning dates, the development and delivery of a writing training based on the Literacy Design Collaborative Task Templates and rubrics, development of a customized monitoring tool, and eight days of training for reading teachers. |
