SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Interlocal Agreement for Bing Elementary School Drainage Improvement
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As approved by the School Board in 2007, Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) is working in cooperation with the Hillsborough County Public Works Department on a traffic circulation improvement at Bing Elementary School.  Hillsborough County is providing $273,500 in Community Investment Tax funding for a new access road and related drainage improvements.  HCPS is not required to participate financially in these improvements.

However, during the permitting process, Hillsborough County Public Works identified a pre-existing inadequacy in the Bing drainage system.  In order for the circulation project to proceed, HCPS must remedy the existing situation.   The School Board is being asked to approve the attached Interlocal Agreement that will allow HCPS to pay for the remedial improvements which will be constructed by the Hillsborough County contractor in conjunction with the circulation improvements.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health • Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
The cost of the remedial drainage improvement is $29,342.98.  Funding will be derived from local millage.
