| Accept the Piggy-back Between Office Depot and the State of Florida Division of Management Services (DMS) Utilizing the Office and Educational Consumables Contract 618-000-11-1 (Business Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has had a long standing partnership with Office Depot utilizing the US Communities contract competitively solicited by the County of Los Angeles. The contract expires on January 01, 2010. HCPS has several thousand users currently procuring products from the Office Depot web site with desktop delivery the next day. In order to prevent any disruption to their current service we are requesting HCPS piggyback the Office Depot Florida DMS contract until Procurement can perform a thorough analysis in January 2011 and make a recommendation to the Board.
The Procurement Department's research demonstrates the best overall pricing/package should be available via a national supplier contract with national volume. The discounts for the office supply commodities provided are driven by volume. The national suppliers we will compare are Office Depot, Independent Stationers, Staples, and Office Max. |

| Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract. | |
