On October 5, 2010, the Board appointed Wilder Architecture, Inc., Lyle Engineering Group, Inc., Ossi Consulting Engineers, Inc., and Voltair Consulting Engineers, LLC, respectively, to provide design services for renovation at Chiaramonte Elementary School and HVAC Renovations at Hill Middle School and Lewis and Lockhart Elementary Schools.  To facilitate completion of the HVAC plant replacements for each school during the upcoming summer, early acquisition of HVAC system air handler units (AHUs) is required due to their long lead time for manufacturing.

Equipment specifications for AHUs for each school were developed by the respective design firms. District staff combined the requirements for each school into a single solicitation and solicited bids via Vendor Bid. Multiple bidders responded to the solicitation (bid tabulation attached). 

The respective design teams have reviewed the proposed equipment for compliance with solicitation requirements. Award of contracts for the equipment to the lowest qualified bidders, as indicated below and in the attachment, is recommended. 

• Chiaramonte and Lockhart - Tampa Bay Systems Sales (representing Trane)
• Hill and Lewis - Slade Ross, Incorporated - Agent for Johnson Controls, Inc.
  

Funds for equipment purchases in the amount of $93,619 are included in the Capital Outlay and Debt Service (CO & DS) 2010 funds for Chiaramonte, $95,862 and $48,033 are included, respectively, in Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance funds for Hill and Lewis, and $15,255 is included in Local Millage funds for Lockhart.
