Approve Contract for Community Charter Middle School of Excellence (Revised Attachment) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Charter school legislation, 1002.33, F.S. , permits individuals, organizations, and community members the opportunity to submit an application to the School Board for the creation of a charter school. On December 7, 2010, the School Board approved the application for Community Charter Middle School of Excellence. The school will serve students in grades 6-8 using a standard curriculum with an emphasis on visual and graphic arts.
A copy of the proposed four year contract for the school is attached. The original charter application approved by the School Board will become Appendix I of this contract and will be available for review in the School Board Office. The school's academic goals and objectives are found in Appendix II. In the event of a discrepancy between the contract and the charter application, the terms of the contract will prevail. Community Charter Middle School of Excellence has agreed to all terms of the contract, which has been revised to include the most recent revisions to 1002.33, F.S. A copy of the application review summary is attached indicating where weaknesses are addressed in the contract. |
