Recognition of the 2010/2011 Elementary Science Olympics Winners (Elementary Education - Curriculum and Instruction)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Elementary Science Olympics was established to strengthen student motivation and interest in science and promote community awareness of science. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade work either individually or cooperatively with a partner to create a solution to a given scenario in various events such as Kindergarten Skyscrapers, First Grade Aqua Foils, Second Grade Airplanes, Third Grade Balloon Racers, Fourth Grade Marshmallow Flyers and Fifth Grade Roller Coaster.

This year 1,310 students from 131 elementary schools participated in the event. Over 5,100 supporters of Science Olympics including parents, extended family members, teachers, administrators and district staff attended the event. Finalists met for the Science Olympics Finals at the Museum of Science and Industry on December 9, 2011.

We are proud to recognize our top winners for their accomplishments.
