Approve Renewal of Cooperative Agreement with Learning AllyTM for Recorded Books and Equipment, 2011/2012 (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval of the cooperative agreement with Learning AllyTM formerly known as Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic (RFBD), which will provide for 84 annual institutional memberships at Level 1 with an annual fee of $350 per school and a limit of 25 audio books totaling $29,400. Learning AllyTM will provide the electronic reading devices and necessary software.
Learning AllyTM is a national nonprofit organization, and will provide the necessary recorded books and equipment for individual students with disabilities in all grade levels who use the recorded texts to access general education textbooks. The number of identified students in need of recorded educational materials has continued to increase. An analysis of student data verifies that accessible instructional materials provided by Learning AllyTM assist students with disabilities to achieve at higher levels. |
