Approve Renewal Agreements for Educational Services with Drug Abuse Comprehensive Counseling Organization (DACCO), 2011/2012 (Adult Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the agreements for the continuation of educational services by the Department of Adult Education to adults at facilities operated by DACCO. The Agreement for Educational Services (Nonfinancial) establishes the responsibilities of the district and DACCO for delivery of instruction that includes Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Educational Development (GED) preparation as well as instruction for students seeking to earn a state of Florida high school diploma. In addition, skills training will be offered. The Agreement for Educational Services (Financial) renews the commitment by DACCO to compensate the district at the approved rate for instructional services. The approved rate for 2011/2012 will increase from $2.18 per student hour for vocational skills training to $2.27 per student hour and from $1.08 per student hour for adult general education instruction to $1.12 per student hour. The specific fees will be listed in the 2011/2012 school board approved Workforce Education Fee Schedule.

Classes generate Workforce Education Fund revenues and are included in the divisional general operating budget. Classroom space is provided at no cost to the district.
