Approve Renewal of Memorandum of Agreement with Mental Health Care, Inc. (MHC) for Exceptional Student Education Services, 2011/2012 (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval of the renewal agreement for the continuation of services for 2011/2012. Since August 1994, the district has contracted with MHC to provide therapeutic services for students and their families being served in the Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (E/BD) program.
During the 2010/2011 school year, MHC provided psychiatric, respite, counseling, and wrap-around services for approximately 373 E/BD students (Pre-K - High School) and families throughout the district at 13 sites. When students transition in from one school to another the counselor routinely follows them to the new placement to assist in making the change a positive one. In addition, counseling services were provided to students with disabilities by the district's Psychological and Social Work Department. |
