Approve Continuing Education Fee Schedule, 2011/2012 (Workforce and Continuing Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval of the Continuing Education Fee Schedule for a variety of short-term, non credit courses designed to meet community needs. These courses may be in the areas of technical or corporate training, academic enrichment, leisure, lifestyle enhancement, or recreation. Although most classes are offered at school sites, they may be offered at a variety of venues throughout Hillsborough County.
Continuing Education courses are totally fee-supported. Fees are reviewed and adjusted annually. The structure of the Continuing Education program allows tuition to be charged based on enrollment and the level of instructor experience, expertise, certification, and licensure. The fees do not include the costs of textbooks, lab materials, consumable items, or kits that may be required in some courses. Every effort is made to keep these costs at a minimum. |
|
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES | |
• Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
Continuing Education courses are financially self-sustaining. All fees collected from participating students are utilized for program costs including instructor salary and benefits, normal class supplies, and indirect costs. |
