| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| These licenses from Rosetta Stone are considered sole-source items and are exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education 6A-1.012 purchasing policies as copyrighted materials.
The materials in question, "Language Learning Software," from Rosetta Stone are utilized to enhance language instruction. This program helps in the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, as well as development of Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency. This program will be used for adult education and family literacy. On May 17, 2011, the Board approved the purchase of Rosetta Stone licenses for English Language Learners (ELL). These additional licenses for Adult Education cover 19 months, which is prorated in an effort to have all licenses end simultaneously. |
