Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for 2011 Modular Installations at Multiple Sites
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On May 3, 2011, the Board approved the addition to Community Investment Tax projects for replacement of obsolete and non-economically repairable portable facilities with modular buildings.

District staff selected Long & Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. and Halfacre Construction Company from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services for a portion of the portable replacement requirements.  The scope of work included in this item provides for demolition and installation of new modular classrooms at 16 sites. (A list of sites is included in the attachment.)   Project completion is scheduled for August 21, 2011. 

Approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) will establish the cost for the project.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Construct and maintain facilities that create an environment conducive to teaching and learning
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $2,365,535.95.  The construction budget is $2,370,000.  This item is included in the District Capital Outlay:  Community Investment Tax (CIT).
