This service has become an essential tool in school-to-home and district-to-employees communications, and is extensively utilized by schools and departments, even beyond what the district originally anticipated.  Notifications have increased from 4.7 million in the first year to 10.1 million in the second year and to 13.9 million presently.  The existing contract calls for an increase from $1.38 to $2.05 per student, however, the vendor has agreed to provide the service at a cost of $1.63 per student.  Student Nutrition Services Department will be contributing $0.13 per student for lunch balance alerts.  The Superintendent is authorized to approve the renewal agreement for the terms of the specifications.
