| Approve Renewal of Agreements for Technical Services Provided to Visually Impaired Grant - (Curriculum and Instruction Division, Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired - FIMC-VI) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| We request approval of Agreements for Technical Services for services listed on attachment A that are provided to FIMC-VI annually.
FIMC-VI is a statewide resource center assisting local school districts with the specialized materials needed for students with visual impairments. Established in 1972, by the Florida Legislature, FIMC-VI operates under the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (FDOE/BEESS) through an annual grant agreement with Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS). Funded through federal IDEA, Part B, IDEA Trust Funds, and State General Revenue appropriations, FDOE/BEESS and HCPS have together successfully provided materials in specialized formats to Florida's students with visual impairments for the past 38 years through their statewide initiatives and fiscal management of FIMC-VI. |

| Funds of $247,640 are included in divisional special revenue/federal programs budget (Project 2117) and $43,760 (Project 1939) FIMC-VI. | |

| As required in the Additional Assurances included in the 2011/12 Project Application, quarterly data reflecting all project activities will be maintained in the Florida Department of Education/Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services Project Tracking System. | |
