Approve Change Order Nos. 1 and 2 for Child Care Facility Addition at South County Career Center
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

To establish a Teen Parent Program at South County Career Center, remodeling of a portion of the facility was needed to support requirements for a child care center. Long & Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. was selected from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design services for the remodeling.

The project was publicly advertised and bids were received.  District staff awarded the contract for construction to the low bidder, K C Jensen Construction, Inc.

Change Order No. 1 provides miscellaneous changes to support childcare facility requirements; plumbing modifications required due to unforeseen conditions; and a credit for liquidated damages for late completion.  A two calendar day time extension is included for completion of the work.  Change Order No. 2 provides for additional plumbing revisions required due to unforeseen conditions.

This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Local Millage.
