EXECUTIVE SUMMARY |
The 2008 Head Start Reauthorization dictates that the Governing Board (school district Board Members and Superintendent) be apprised of the legal and fiduciary responsibilities in the oversight of the program. The Hillsborough County School District's Head Start Program has been in operation for 46 years as a delegate Head Start agency and continues to provide comprehensive services to the 1,812 eligible 3, 4, and 5 year old children served in 91 classrooms at 51 elementary sites. |

The total funding of $10,822,278 is federal flow through dollars from the Board of County Commissioners, Head Start/Early Head Start and contracted to the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program. These dollars consists of $10,755,780 in Head Start base funding and $66,498 for training and technical assistance. All funds are expended for the operation of the Head Start Program for services provided to eligible children and families.

EVALUATION |
Financial statements are audited by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Head Start/Early Head Start, as prescribed by law. Federal funding for the Hillsborough County Public Schools Head Start Program flows through the Grantee, Hillsborough County Head Start/Early Head Start. There is no district generated revenue used for this program. |
