SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Agreement of Understanding with Community-Based Training (CBT) Site for Students with Disabilities for the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 School Years (Exceptional Student Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of an additional CBT site, St. Joseph’s Hospital North.  The CBT Program was initiated by the district for students with disabilities in January 1990.  By providing training in entry level positions at a variety of businesses in the community, students are better prepared to successfully enter the workforce.  During the 2011/2012 school year, 24 schools will participate and provide training opportunities for approximately 259 students with disabilities.  Our community business partners provide valuable training experiences for students with disabilities.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Motivate students to become responsible learners
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)
The Agreement of Understanding is nonfinancial.  There is no cost to the district.
EVALUATION

Evaluations will be conducted on May 28, 2013.  CBT Business Partnership Evaluations are completed by all participating businesses.  The participating businesses will rate students on their performance based on the following criteria:

  • Students display appropriate behavior
  • Students display independence
  • Students follow company policies/rules
  • Students display appropriate dress/hygiene
  • Students perform assigned tasks
  • Overall program effectiveness
