Approve Design Development Phase for Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Renovation at Monroe Middle School
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On October 26, 2010, the Board approved the issuance of approximately $37,935,000 of Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCBs) for renovation of roofs and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at various District sites.  The QSCBs provided for acceleration of roof and HVAC renovations previously scheduled in the five-year plan.  (QSCB funded projects are indicated in the attachment.) 

On June 14, 2011, the Board appointed OCI Associates, Inc. to provide design services for a project to renovate the HVAC system at Monroe Middle School.

Project completion is scheduled for August 2012.

Approval of the Design Development Phase will allow the engineer to proceed with construction documents.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)

Total funds in the amount of $4,060,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Qualified School Construction Bonds.  The estimate of probable cost is $4,056,000.
