| Approve the Recommendation Regarding the Purchase of International/Navistar Parts and Labor from Sun State International Truck, LLC (Sole-Source Provider) (Business Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| Sun State International Truck is a local dealer for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) International/Navistar parts, service, warranty, and repairs. They are the only International/Navistar factory authorized dealer for DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota counties.
Therefore, Sun State International Truck is considered sole-source and is exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education 6A-1.012 Purchasing Policies (12)(d). This exemption allows Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) to negotiate the best terms and conditions with the vendor. |

| Expenditures to date are approximately $501,829 for 2011/2012, and $866,488 for 2010/2011. Parts pricing is based on the International Truck and Engine National Fleet Pricing structure. Standard Repair Time (SRT) labor rate is $92 an hour. HCPS negotiated an $89 hourly labor rate, which will result in an approximate $6,000 annual savings. | |
