Matching Funds Projects at Seven Schools: Buckhorn, Gibsonton, Just and Robles Elementary Schools and Chamberlain, Robinson and Sickles High Schools (Facilities Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Matching Funds Program was established in 2001-2002 by the Superintendent to assist schools and their partners in raising funds for capital school improvements by matching dollars in any amount up to $50,000.  On October 26, 2009, a committee composed of elementary, middle and high school principals and the Facilities Division met to review and update the program procedures to be effective for the 2010-2011 fiscal year (revised procedures attached). 

District Matching Funds are requested for the following schools:  Buckhorn Elementary: walking track; Chamberlain High: softball modular building; Gibsonton Elementary: data/electric poles to enhance school facility; Just Elementary: covered physical education court; Robles Elementary: replacement of digital sign from marquee; Robinson High:  marquee - electronic (one large, one small); Sickles High: baseball/softball covered batting cage.

Total project expenditures are as follows:

  • Buckhorn Elementary:  $27,069.55 ($13,534.55 District Matching Funds, $13,535 Buckhorn Elementary Funds)
  • Chamberlain High:  $40,000 ($20,000 District Matching Funds, $20,000 Chamberlain High Funds)
  • Gibsonton Elementary:  $24,532.28 ($12,266.14 District Matching Funds, $12,266.14 Gibsonton Elementary Funds)
  • Just Elementary:  $44,624 ($22,312 District Matching Funds, $22,312 Just Elementary Funds)
  • Robles Elementary:  $24,783 ($12,391.50 District Matching Funds, $12,391.50 Robles Elementary Funds)
  • Robinson High:  $59,023 ($29,511.50 District Matching Funds, $29,511.50 Robinson High Funds)
  • Sickles High:  $106,920 ($50,000 District Matching Funds, $56,920 Sickles High Funds)

Expenditures are funded as follows:  A minimum contribution of 50% of the project cost and the balance from Millage Matching Funds, not to exceed $50,000.
