The Hillsborough Prevention Collaborative (HPC) is a coalition convening to address community issues with common risk and protective factors such as substance abuse, violence, gang involvement, teen pregnancy, academic failure, and juvenile delinquency. Hillsborough County Criminal Justice is facilitating this initiative with Central Florida Behavioral Health Network and the Mendez Foundation. The HPC began convening in November of 2010 and has had participation from the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, Children's Board of Hillsborough County, The School Board of Hillsborough County, FL, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Central Florida Behavioral Health Network, Florida Department of Children and Families Suncoast Region, the U.S. Attorney's Office Middle District, Family Justice Center, Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office (DACCO), Mental Health Care, Inc., Agency for Community Treatment Services (ACTS), the Mendez Foundation, the Centre, Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, Bay Area Youth Services, Success 4 Kids and Families, Child Abuse Council, Hillsborough Kids, Inc., Healthy Start Coalition, Hillsborough Healthy Teen Network, St. Joseph's Children's Hospital Advocacy Center, Abe Brown Ministries, and Beulah Baptist Institutional Church. This Memorandum of Understanding is to establish an agreement between Hillsborough County Public Schools and the HPC to assist in the mission of working as a community-driven collaborative to promote the universal awareness, accessibility, and sustainability of the essential resources for health, wellness, and success. |
