Review of the History, Purpose, and Methodology of Creating Scales for Semester Exams (Information and Technology Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On February 5, 2012, the Tampa Bay Times included an item entitled "Some Hillsborough students pass mid-term exams with fewer than half the correct answers." To clarify some of the issues raised, this workshop includes a  review of the history of semester exams focusing on the methodology used to create grading scales that are fair and consistent across schools and subjects throughout the district.
