Approve Disposal of Portables that are Beyond Economical Repair (BER) / Surplus (Business Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Per State Statue 274.05 and School Board Policy 7310, the Board may sell, transfer, or dispose of any real or tangible property, which they deem no longer serviceable or usable in the current educational program. Due to extensive repairs, the cost of moving and setting up, or replacement with modular units, the attached list of portables has been declared BER / Surplus by the Facilities Division and will be demolished, or donated to the current apprentice hall that supports an Adult Education program. Two portables were donated to the Tampa Police Department in support of the Police Athletic League (PAL). | |

The demolition cost of a portable ranges from $2,200 to $2,600, depending on the quantity to be demolished at the location. The cost of demolition is paid from the Maintenance Portable Budget. The Fixed Asset Master File will be reduced by $185,832.57, which is the net book value for February. | |
