EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Florida Department of Education's Division of Career and Adult Education requires school districts to submit proposals in a consolidated format for the federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV). The purpose of this act is to support Career and Technical Education and is to be achieved by: increasing the number of students taking rigorous curriculum, increasing high school graduation rates, increasing student choice and acceleration to postsecondary, and reducing the number of students needing postsecondary remediation and increasing numbers continuing on to postsecondary education.

• Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates • Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods • Motivate students to become responsible learners • Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum | |
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No) | |
Based on past performance, it is estimated that grant funds received by the district from these programs will total over $3,000,000 during the 2012/2013 school year. These funds are included in the respective divisional special revenue/federal programs budget. | |
EVALUATION | |
Evaluations are performed for all funded grants as required by the grant funding authority. Project personnel collaborate with the district's Divisional Information Services (IS) and the Office of Assessment and Accountability to collect required formative and summative evaluation data and submit it to the funding authority. | |
