EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request the School Board adopt the attached proclamation designating the month of April 2012 as "Florida Service-Learning Month" in Hillsborough County Schools. This designation celebrates the positive contributions our young people are making in their communities and serves to increase the awareness, visibility and stature of service-learning as a viable educational methodology.
During the month of April, Hillsborough County students will engage in local and statewide Service-Learning events. Randall Middle School will travel to Washington, DC to be recognized for their outstanding service learning project. This School Board proclamation acknowledges the important role service plays in the academic and civic development of our students and calls upon all students, staff, and community members to join together to "Raise their Voices for Service-Learning" by engaging in projects and activities during the month of April. |
