Approve Award of Contract for Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Renovation at Shore Elementary School | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
On October 26, 2010, the Board approved the issuance of approximately $37,935,000 of Qualified School Construction Bonds (QSCBs) for renovation of roofs and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at various District sites. The QSCBs provided for acceleration of roof and HVAC renovations previously scheduled in the five-year plan. (QSCB funded projects are indicated in the attachment.) On June 14, 2011, the Board appointed Lyle Engineering Group, Inc. to provide design services for a project to renovate the HVAC system at Shore Elementary School. The project was advertised and bids received (see attached bid tabulation). Award of the contract for construction to the low bidder, Kenyon & Partners, Inc., is recommended. |

Total funds in the amount of $2,953,000 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Qualified School Construction Bonds. The contract amount being awarded is $2,952,100. |
