Recognition of World Languages State Competition Winners (Secondary Education-Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
Students studying a world language recently competed in a statewide competition that included poetry recitation and skits. Spanish learners competed against other districts throughout the state.
The importance and advantages of learning a world language is continuing to increase day to day. Apart from being able to converse with people in their own language, it also teaches tolerance, understanding, and cultural awareness. Learning a world language opens the door to other cultures and helps students become more competitive in the global market place. We would like to recognize the students from Tampa Bay Technical High School who placed 1st in the Florida Spanish State Competition 2012. |
