Extensive design work was done on the front end of the project to insure that the best product possible was being developed.   This design work exceeded what was initially scoped.  The end result was a system that grew to over 500 metrics, all of which are vital to assisting teachers and principals with measuring student achievement.  This far exceeds the number of metrics that were originally identified for the dashboards.

It was also determined that the original design for divisional dashboards was not the preferred direction.  A more flexible solution for district level staff was desired instead of fixed format dashboards.  With our move to the Cognos Reporting engine, it allowed the redesign of the divisional dashboards to give the district more options for deploying student and staff data.
