Approve Interlocal Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County for Joint Parking at Booker T. Washington Elementary School

As part of the expansion of the Robert W. Saunders, Sr. Public Library located adjacent to Booker T. Washington Elementary School, Hillsborough County needs to provide overflow parking to accommodate the general public during normal Library hours and special Library events.  The attached Interlocal Agreement  between the School Board and the County provides them with access to parking located across the street from the School during these times in the area as shown on Exhibit "A".  The City of Tampa has required Hillsborough County to demonstrate access to adequate parking as part of the approval process for the Library expansion.

The Saunders Library is being rebuilt by the County and should be completed in December 2014.  The replacement Library is designed for a future partnership facility and will support the students of B.T. Washington, community activities and general public use.  Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to approve this agreement on April 18, 2012.

Approval of the Interlocal Agreement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County for joint use of parking at B.T. Washington Elementary School will have no financial impact to the School Board.
