Approve Amendment #2 to Contract for Full Service Schools with the State of Florida, Department of Health (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This contract renewal is in effect July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013. Its purpose is to expand health services and increase access to health care in high poverty areas. The Full Service School funds provide health services, position fringes, travel, and training to designated schools (Just, Oak Park, Palm River, and Sulphur Springs Elementary Schools, Dowdell Middle School, and Hillsborough High School) in our district. This is an annual renewal of flow-through funds from the Hillsborough County Health Department.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funds in the amount of $422,772 are provided by the Legislature from the general revenue.  The funds are to be used for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).  The funds support our full service schools projects. 
EVALUATION
Annual reports are submitted to the State of Florida, Department of Health. These reports contain data regarding student, parent, and school district employee encounters.
