| Approve the Purchase of Printer Maintenance for Model InfoPrint 3300 from Ricoh Production Print Solutions, LLC (Information and Technology Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The Information Services Department utilizes two large-scale IBM laser printers, model InfoPrint 3300, to produce printed output for schools and administration locations. The service maintenance and usage charge combined for both printers is approximately $5,600 per month. This maintenance has been part of the annual IBM hardware maintenance cost. IBM discontinued supporting these printers by creating the InfoPrint Solutions Company, a subsidiary corporation from their Printing Systems Division. The InfoPrint Solutions Company was acquired by Ricoh Production Print Solutions, LLC.
This agenda item approves the payment for usage and maintenance costs directly to the Ricoh Production Print Solutions, LLC to avoid any disruption of printing services from the Information Services Department. Ricoh Production Print Solutions LLC has the exclusive support and maintenance capabilities, as they do not authorize any resellers to service these printers. Therefore, this is exempt from the solicitation process per Florida Department of Education rule 6A-1.012. |
