| Approve Training Vendor Agreement with Tampa Bay WorkForce Alliance, Inc. (TBWA), 2012/2013 (Workforce and Continuing Education) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| This agreement continues the partnership with the local workforce board, which has been in place since the inception of the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. WIA funds support eligible adult students enrolled in Postsecondary Adult Vocational (PSAV) programs by providing tuition, books, supplies, industry certification/licensure exams, and other related fees. During the 2011/2012 school year, approximately 125 WIA-sponsored students enrolled in workforce education programs through the school district’s technical centers.
Although this is a new streamlined document, the operations and services remain the same. The list of training programs we offer that was included in previous contracts has been replaced with a database system which can be updated as changes occur. Programs for which WIA funds may sponsor students must lead to occupations included on the current Targeted Occupations List. |
