Approve Teacher Training Instructors for New Teacher Orientation 2012  (Information and Technology Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval of the attached listing of instructors who will conduct New Teacher Orientation.  This training is for all teachers hired new into Hillsborough County Public Schools.  The training will take place at Strawberry Crest High School on July 23-26, 2012.  The Information Technology Division provides this training for all new hires to give them an opportunity to start learning the initiatives and philosophies that drive our district.  This will give them their first exposure to the Evaluation Instrument and the philosophies behind Charlotte Danielson’s work.  The course focuses on classroom management, planning, diversity, and professionalism; all aligned with the teacher evaluation rubric.  During this week they will also be introduced to the Teacher Induction Program, TIP, in which they will receive ongoing support throughout the year.

Hours of service will be 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for four days of training, totaling 32 hours of service.
