| Accept the Recommendation to Purchase “Workforce Connects Reading Program” from Contemporary/McGraw-Hill (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The licenses/software from McGraw-Hill are exempt from the bidding process per Florida Department of Education 6A-1.012 purchasing policies, as they are purchased directly from the publisher.
The Workforce Connects Reading Program is designed to target the Adult General Education Development (GED) student population to assist them in preparation to pass the GED test. This program will be integrated into the Adult GED curriculum, in conjunction with the Career Pathways Model, to assist students with finding potential career path opportunities after receiving their GED. |

| Grant funds are budgeted and available in the amount of $69,540 in the Adult General Education Project 2324. This amount covers subscription costs for two years. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| All Adult Education GED students, upon enrolling, will be tracked from the time they start classes, pass their GED test, and enroll in a postsecondary setting. This will include taking career interest surveys, interactions with their instructor and guidance counselor, keeping an electronic career portfolio that will be updated regularly throughout their enrollment, and post GED diploma follow-up into their desired postsecondary career field. | |
