Approve to Submit Grant Application to the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), and if Approved, Accept Funds for the Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) for 2012/2013 (Curriculum and Instruction Division) | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
We request approval to submit a grant application to the FLDOE for the FIN discretionary grant. The approval of this application will allow the continuation of inclusive practices, product development, training, and support for students with disabilities to access the general education curriculum in the least restrictive environment.
FIN provided ten districtwide trainings that included Collaborative Planning and Teaching, Differentiated Instruction and Collaborative Scheduling that impacted 108 schools. This past year, 14 schools received site-based action planning to expand inclusive practices for inclusive education. A summary narrative of the grant proposal and list of schools for 2011/2012 are attached. |

If approved, grant funds of $229,667 will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal programs budget, FIN discretionary grant. | |

Performance evaluation measures are determined by the FLDOE. The results of the evaluation will be shared with all stakeholders. | |
