| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| ScribOrder software is an application that allows for the electronic ordering of various documents related to student records. Using this software will allow individuals to request records via the Internet any time of day for a minimal fee. The software will handle the billing and the receipting of both the service fee and the cost of the transcript or other record. That fee will be four dollars to Scribbles for the transaction and two dollars to the district for the transcript or other record which is the current rate we charge. The current process requires forms to be mailed or delivered in person - both of which are costs incurred by the customer. This will make the process more efficient and customer friendly.
Scribbles will not have access to any student records. They will process the request, communicate via email to the customer, and provide the district with billing information. The Student Records office will fulfill the verified order. Scribbles will send the district a report and a check each month for the number of transactions. The software is housed and maintained by the company, and the transaction process is secure and complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations. The software and related processes have been reviewed by the Information and Technology Division, Business Division, and the Administration Division. |
