SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve First Amendment to General Cooperative Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On June 15, 2010, the School Board of Hillsborough County and all four Hillsborough County jurisdictions entered into a General Cooperative Agreement to allow for the joint use of facilities for recreational purposes.  The program is saving overall tax dollars by sharing existing recreational facilities instead of each entity duplicating them.  The Agreement with the City of Tampa differed slightly by the City not participating in the reciprocal program to sponsor leagues playing at each other's properties.  Tampa re-evaluated this specific term and has decided to modify their Agreement to include this language.

The First Amendment to the General Cooperative Agreement was brought before Tampa City Council on July 19, 2012 and approved as presented.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals • Demonstrate best financial practices • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  No)

The approval of the First Amendment to the General Cooperative Agreement between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the City of Tampa will have no financial impact to the School Board.
