Approve the School Health Services Plan for 2012/2014 | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The submission of a School Health Services Plan is required every two years by law. The plan outlines how the local school district and the local health department meet the federal and state required mandates. This is accomplished in cooperation between key stakeholders, the school district, and contracts with the local health department. This funding is used for salaries, fringes, travel, and training for forty eight (48) school nurses. | |

• Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety including students, employees, visitors, facilities, transportation, and health | |
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes) | |
Funding in the amount of $2,413,649 comes from the State of Florida Department of Health. These funds are used to provide mandated services by nursing and medical personnel, equipment, and clinic supplies. | |
EVALUATION | |
The School Health Services Plan outlines provisions and responsibilities to provide mandated health services in all public schools and includes key stakeholders. | |
