Students from district middle and high schools participated in the 2011/2012 Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc. 25th Annual Essay Contest. This annual contest celebrates the achievements in writing by middle and high school students of Hillsborough County, as well as the mission of the organization, to heighten the awareness of the Hispanic culture and its many contributions to our community, state, and country.
Students submitted essays written in either English or Spanish to Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc. that addressed the topic, “The Presence of Hispanics in Florida: Past and Present Challenges." A panel of area educators and other prominent members of the community judged the essays. Tampa Hispanic Heritage, Inc. announced and recognized the winners of each category at the Essay Contest Awards Brunch held in Ybor City on May 16, 2012. We are proud to recognize our winners. |
