| Approve Amendment #2 of the Local Child Care Funds Contract #LCCF SR 01-12, with the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County (Student Services and Federal Programs Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| The Local Child Care Funds contract provides funding for child care and early education services for children from income-eligible families. The term of this contract is October 1, 2011, through September 30, 2012. Amendment #2 provides a $400,000 increase to be used to provide child care for school age children, ages 5 through 12, and their eligible siblings. | |

| FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes) | |
| Amendment #2 provides an increase of $400,000 to the contract total of $2,256,339, making the amended total $2,656,339. This increase is used only for direct services to children. These funds will allow approximately 600 children to continue receiving care through the end of the federal fiscal year (FFY) 2011/2012, September 30, 2012, at an average rate of $666 per child. Funding will be utilized for expenditures incurred during the months of August and September 2012. | |
| EVALUATION | |
| Each year the financial statements are audited by Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition as prescribed by law. This funding for Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County is provided by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. The School Readiness Program uses these funds to purchase child care in Hillsborough County. There is no district-generated revenue used for this purchase. | |
