Accept and Contract with Battelle for Kids (BFK) for the Value-Added Measures: Reporting and Professional Development (Sole-Source Provider) (Information and Technology Division) Revised Attachment
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Battelle for Kids provides the "value-added results" program and holds the copyright on these materials, therefore, is exempt from the solicitation process per Florida Department of Education rule 6A-1.012.

Teachers and administrators need data and information to guide and improve their instruction.  Value-added analysis, when combined with multiple measures, provides insight into the impact schools and teachers have on student performance.  BFK addresses the complexities associated with effectively implementing large-scale, value-added initiatives.  In addition to their work last year with Hillsborough County Public Schools, Battelle for Kids provides similar support to educators in Houston, Los  Angeles, and other districts throughout the country.  The goal of this project is to support Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) roll out of 2011-2012, value-added analysis results.

A complete description of activities and deliverables is included on the attachment.
