| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| We request approval to renew the lease with McDill Columbus Corporation from August 1, 2012, through July 31, 2013, for 4,200 square feet of classroom space at a monthly rate of $5,582.29, for an annual lease of $66,987.48 including all utilities and custodial services. This request is retroactive due to negotiations with the agency to ensure mutual agreement prior to submission to the School Board for approval. Traditionally classes continue and are not disrupted during this process.
The district has leased classroom space for the CARIBE adult education program at McDill Columbus Plaza, 2700 North MacDill Avenue in Tampa, since 2001. The facility is used for approximately 500 adult learners enrolled through CARIBE for instruction in English language for recent refugees and political asylees. The location has proved to be ideal for recruiting and retaining the targeted refugee population. |
